Biography
With the discipline of classical training with Janet Balent at the Royal
Conservatory of music he was skipped from grade 3 to grade 5 piano, due to his incredible level
of accomplishment. JD has continued to excel among his peers in theory, training and performance
including winning 1st prize in the Kiwanis Festival two years in a row.
In 1997 JD received an award for outstanding achievement from the Canadian
Music Week composition writing contest with his 7 page song in Andante
Cantabille called "Song of Seasons" .
JD has has received his training in sound engineering and production at the International Academy of Design and is currently using his skills to collaborate with several talented writers including a creative team producing a live stage show through UMAC and Linkage Movement. JD has recently studied concepts in jazz with Hammond B3 Veteran John T. Davis. In the last year he has inspired audiences through youth initiatives including Remix Project , Sketch, Y.E.S , AGO Youth Council and Literature for Life's Poetic Fashion.
Through Lynk PR, JD was also fortunate to obtain a rare & unique sponsorship from Roland Canada and has performed for the prestigious
Harry Jerome Awards in front of Prime Minster Harper. This summer 2010 welcomes the opportunity for JD to start recording his debut CD, including collaborations with various artists. JD is available for private and corporate events, art exhibits, festivals, studio sessions and youth workshops.
